COLORADO SPRINGS -- Fort Carson soldiers halted their duties Friday morning to honor one of their own who was killed this week during service with the international peacekeeping force in Kosovo.
Soldiers Memorial Chapel filled to overflowing for the half-hour ceremony for Staff Sgt. Joseph E. Suponcic, a Green Beret with the post's 10th Special Forces Group.
The 26-year-old soldier, whom fellow soldiers called ``the best of the best,'' was killed when his vehicle struck a mine Wednesday night near Kosovska Kamenica in southeastern Kosovo. Authorities believe the mine might have been planted recently as an ...
