A very good year.
It would be difficult to match the City Hall Christmas light display of 20 years ago. If there is such a thing as a vintage year of outdoor yule decor, it would have to be 1958.
In October, Mayor Will Nicholson announced that for the first time since 1919, there would be no Civic Center Christmas lights. There were legal entanglements when the city had drawn up its budget a year earlier.
