A Twin Cities lawyer-educator-preacher with impeccable scholarly credentials and some unusual entries on his resume got a phone call Friday that put him at the epicenter of the legal case of the century.
During the phone call from John McKay, president of the Florida Senate, Roger Magnuson of Mahtomedi was retained to help represent the Legislature in the U.S. Supreme Court case over Florida's recount that will be argued Friday.
"Obviously, it's a very interesting case," Magnuson said from Tallahassee Tuesday, in one of the understatements of the week.
Magnuson has already submitted his brief.
