LOS ANGELES -- The first thing to know about ``Van Gogh's Van Goghs'' is that there is not one big sunflower, and only a smattering of irises, in the entire show of 70 paintings.
Bright, buzzing wheatfields, and dark peasant scenes? Plenty - with the addition of still lifes of glassware and asters, stylized fishing boats whose angled prows produce a thoroughly complex composition, and self-portraits in which the artist continually experimented.
