Step 1 in the ``Six Steps to Effortless Skiing'' actually is the ``Phantom Move'' we've addressed frequently this season, and ``lift and tilt'' are the words that describe the movements we use in the turn.
In addressing the Phantom Move, we learned to do the ``lift and tilt'' initially from a traverse. Now, as we advance in making our turns, it is the inside ski that is used to initiate or start the turn.
You ``lift'' the tail of the inside ski and ``tilt'' your ski boot toward the little-toe side. Make sure the ski tip stays on the snow as you tilt to the little-toe side. The outside ski is the stance, or balance, leg for ...
