Workers earn much less in right-to-work states
In the Feb. 8 editorial on House Bill 1263, Rep. Ron May cites statistics claiming that Colorado is losing jobs because of the lack of a right to work law. The statistic that is not cited is the pay rate for these jobs. Of course, four out of five companies would not consider relocating to a non right to work state because they would have to pay more for the skilled labor force represented by unions.
Right to work laws are thinly disquised attempts at union busting. Because right to work laws encourage ``free riders,'' unions would be forced to subsidize the benefits of collective bargaining for people who ...
