Kiss the whole cow town thing goodbye.
Denver has become one of the hottest tickets in North America for touring Broadway shows, generating millions in revenue and raising the city's national profile in the theater community.
During the 1997-98 season, touring shows such as Evita and Les Miserables grossed $16.5 million, just below such traditional theater capitals as San Francisco and Boston.
Denver is seventh on the money list for touring shows, up from 13th just two seasons ago, according to the League of American Theaters and Producers in New York.
