TUCSON -- The psychic damage showed up in subtle ways far from Coors Field. Watching his Colorado Rockies pitchers in exhibition games for a couple weeks in the Arizona desert alerted manager Jim Leyland to some lingering consequences.
From the visitors dugout, Leyland has seen enough of Coors Field to realize normalcy there is an abstract concept. Having arrived with fears their earned-run averages could balloon, opposing pitchers depart Coors Field with a goodbye-good-riddance attitude.
