It's time for those pushing for passage of a uniform concealed-weapon law in Colorado to pause, take a deep breath and come to grips with political reality. Although the legislative session is more than half over, two concealed-weapon bills are now dead and the lone survivor has not yet passed out of a single chamber. If Second Amendment enthusiasts can't rein in their ambitions, they're going to end up with no legislation at all.
The irony is that a majority of lawmakers are clearly willing to pass, and Gov. Bill Owens is willing to sign, a bill that in any previous year would have been greeted with boisterous hosannas by the gun lobby. Now a portion of that ...
