SAN JOSE, Calif. -- If the Colorado Avalanche and San Jose Sharks do end up playing in the first round of the NHL Western Conference playoffs, it could be a whale of a series.
The Avalanche and Sharks met Wednesday night in a possible playoff preview before a sellout crowd of 17,483 at the San Jose Arena.
Colorado played another solid, smart road game, something the team has been doing most of the season, and notched a 3-2 victory. The Avalanche improved to 22-12-4 on the road this season.
The game had a playoff intensity, marked by pushing, shoving, big hits and a few cheap shots here and there. ...
