The owners of Silver Creek have agreed to buy the Berthoud Pass ski area in hopes of providing Grand County skiers with more bang for their buck.
Silver Creek officials would not reveal the purchase price.
The deal must be approved by the U.S. Forest Service, which has to authorize the transfer of Berthoud's permit to Silver Creek. Silver Creek officials expect the transfer to be complete by the end of the month.
The purchase will allow Silver Creek, which caters to beginners and intermediate skiers, to offer visitors a wider range of terrain.
