By living his dream, baseball Hall of Famer Hank Aaron created dreams for children to follow.
Aaron, who is major league baseball's all-time home run king, was in Denver on Friday, when he received a $15,000 check for his Chasing the Dream Foundation from the Colorado Rockies and U S West.
Aaron spoke at a luncheon that attracted many of Denver's black civic leaders and a Rockies contingent that included Charlie Monfort, Bob Gebhard, Gary Hughes, Jim Leyland and Paul Egins. Egins, the Rockies' director of player development, is a close friend of Aaron's.
