The emotional events occurred on a spring day more than 30 years ago. But Ruby Dee remembers them as if they happened yesterday.
Dee and Ossie Davis, her actor-husband of 50 years, were honored at a show-business luncheon for their contributions to the New York theater, not only as performers but for their ongoing work in encouraging young people of all races and creeds to get involved in theater.
