Explaining school finance formulas is easier than explaining how school districts get their legal names, but we'll try.
First, know that Colorado has 176 school districts today, down from 2,105 in 1935. Obviously, there's been a lot of combining and reorganizing in the past 60 years. Most of it came in the '40s and '50s, says ...
