TOKYO, Nov 20 Asia Pulse - Japan's Economic Planning Agency has announced downward revisions of both its leading and coincident economic indexes for September, citing increased uncertainty over the economic outlook.

The leading index, which gauges the economic outlook five to six months into the future, was sliced from a preliminary figure of 56.3 percent to 45 percent, marking the first drop below the key boom-or-bust 50 percent line in four months. The downward revision reflects deterioration from June of two components: machinery orders and the ratio of materials inventory to consumption.
