The nine-day journey of the posadas ended Wednesday as two children playing the roles of Mary and Joseph walked out of the cold and into the warm Christian spirit of St. Cajetan's Church.
Trailed by about 60 members of the candle-carrying congregation, Danitza Sosa (Mary), 11, and Jonathan Lopez (Joseph), 10, stopped by the rectory and sang their posadas in Spanish to be allowed inside so they could prepare for the birth of Jesus Christ.
Members of the church playing the roles of the sleepy innkeepers caroled back, saying they didn't want to be bothered and that the couple should head elsewhere.
