SAN ANTONIO -- Maybe Kansas State was right. It didn't belong in the Alamo Bowl.
The unranked Purdue Boilermakers shocked the No. 4 Wildcats 37-34 Tuesday night, embarrassing a team that was once close to a shot at the national championship.
After losing a 14-point lead in the final period and letting Kansas State jump ahead 34-30, Purdue (9-4) drove 80 yards in 54 seconds to win it on Drew Brees' 19-yard pass to Isaac Jones with 30 seconds left.
It was a bitter ending for Kansas State (11-2), which felt snubbed at not getting an invitation to a top-tier bowl after being knocked out of the national title ...
