ABC Sports is truly a Mickey Mouse operation - and not just because it's Disney-owned - but the Fantasyland apologists for "Monday Night Football" sank to a paranoid new low this week in gritting their teeth for next week's Foxboro farce - the Chiefs-Patriots turnoff on Ch. 5.
We've pointed out several times that despite great games, something in short supply at ABC a year ago, "MNF" ratings have fallen 7 percent beneath their 1999 all-time (three-decade) low. We've pointed the finger of blame at Dennis Miller, who was summoned by Don Ohlmeyer to REVERSEthe slide opposite wrestling, and ABC's thin-skinned officials don't like it.
