GIVEN that Emile Heskey is as big as a doorstop jam-butty, he hardly needs anyone to fight his battles for him.
But there was a fascinating moment in the midst of this routine win over Charlton that offered an insight into the continuing development of this young England striker.
Because of his size, and the fact that he seems to have been around longer than Coronation Street, it is easy to forget that Heskey is still, at 22, a boy in footballing terms.
