I suppose it is a commercial necessity, or a quest for profit, that results in many garden centres turning themselves into Christmas decoration emporiums at this time of year.
A local one has blacked-out halls twinkling with every type of fairy light you can imagine along with decorations and novelties which range from the tastefully elegant to the epitome of naff.
