Chaparral. Grandview. Monarch. Pine Creek. ThunderRidge.
They all sound like favorite haunts in the Wild West, places scattered across the plains, gateways to a waiting frontier.
And that description really is not far off, as new horizons and unexplored territory could be the theme in Class 4A football this season, especially in the aptly named Prairie League. The new league will house the five above-mentioned pioneers - along with well-established Littleton - setting out for the unknown in playing their first games at the varsity level.
