I greet Joyce Maynard with a pen and notebook in one hand, her new book and a copy of the New York Times review of the book in the other. Most might think the Times piece unkind, noting as it does how Maynard's memoir ``wobbles between wanness and gush'' and has an ``uneven self-awareness'' about it. But Maynard chuckles as I pull it out. ``I'm starting to think of that as one of the good ones,'' she says.
