Seven years ago, Cody, Wyo., furniture maker J. Mike Patrick decided to host an exhibit at which western artists could get together to show off their creations.
That year and the next, the exhibit, called the Master Artisans Guild, was held in a single hotel room. By the third year, the exhibit was renamed and moved to the Cody Auditorium, where the Western Design Conference, now in its sixth year, continues today.
