VAIL -- A radical environmental group claimed Wednesday that it torched buildings and ski lift houses atop Vail Mountain to protest the ski area's expansion, calling the fires ``just a warning.''
State and federal investigators pored over the communique from a group calling itself the Earth Liberation Front after it claimed to have ignited seven blazes that caused an estimated $12 million in damage.
``We have no idea if it's credible,'' said Kim Andree, spokeswoman for the Eagle County Sheriff's Department.
