Dec. 4--It's not quite the equivalent of big Hollywood stars skipping an Oscar awards ceremony, but decisions by Delphi Automotive and Visteon Corp. to not exhibit at the Society of Automotive Engineers' annual trade show in Detroit has attracted attention within the automotive industry.
Delphi and Visteon, which both have operations in Western New York, are the world's No. 1 and 2 auto parts suppliers, respectively. The SAE event in March is considered the premier showcase of auto technology.
The big-name suppliers' decision to skip the show -- Lear and a few other companies also will not attend -- reflects how some companies are rethinking their ...
