SYDNEY, Dec 5 Asia Pulse - Criminals can leave behind a trail of evidence on computer memories even more incriminating than fingerprints, according to a KPMG expert in computer forensics.
According to Rod McKemmish, the Senior Manager of KPMG's Forensic Accounting Group in Australia, the evidence can be uncovered from computer memories, even if it has been erased "permanently" by the criminal.
With cyber crime becoming more prevalent, the science of computer forensics was being used more often to track down activities such as fraud, child pornography and forgery, he said. It was a significant addition to traditional methods of evidence gathering.
