PROJECT OVERVIEW:
An international consortium was recently award a contract to build a new power station in Ghana. The partners in the planned undertaking include Spain-based UNION ELECTRICA FENOSA S.A., the COMMONWEALTH DEVELOPMENT CORP. of the UK and the local ELECTRICITY COMPANY OF GHANA.
According to the terms of the award, the partnership will be responsible for building a cogeneration plant with an installed generating capacity of 30 Mw. Under the terms of the collaborative agreement the Spanish company, though its subsidiary known as ENERGIAS ESPECIALES, will hold an interest of over 50% in the venture.
