Innotec Stainless Inc is a job shop specializing in producing sanitary diaphragm valves for the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. Ninety-nine percent of the material used in the job shop's operation is Type 316L austenitic stainless steel; machining ranges from easy to difficult. The machining processes are relatively straightforward, using CNC machine tools running programs that are generated on a CAD/CAM system. Quality control is performed with the use of basic gauging, including micrometers and calipers, and indicators on a surface plate.
