SAN DIEGO -- You don't come to the Super Bowl in search of the heartfelt. It's your basic bathos-free zone. The closest I ever can remember was when a 49ers lineman revealed during one Super Bowl that he had found God during the act. Yes, that act.
Then I bumped into Rod Smith.
