Ministers in three-piece suits. College professors who marched long miles in the civil rights movement. And a jogger training for a marathon at City Park.
For a few peaceful moments, they all joined hands at the foot of Martin Luther King Jr.'s statue in the park on Saturday, the 30th anniversary of the civil rights leader's slaying.
``The enlightenment he brought to this nation has allowed someone like me to be elected mayor of this city,'' Denver Mayor Wellington Webb said.
There were prayers and hugs. About 30 people placed roses at the foot of the statue.
