GLENDALE -- The three City Council candidates backed by the city's two strip clubs were swept into office Tuesday by voters who turned out in record numbers.
As the ballot results were posted at City Hall, supporters of the Glendale Tea Party slate cheered and bounded joyously in celebration.
``I'm glad democracy prevailed. It's going to start now,'' said print shop owner Jay Balano, who shared victory with Kay Parker, a nurse, and landscape designer Chris Perry.
``We're going to give the city back to the people,'' said Perry, who was the top vote-getter with 300 votes.
