The House Judiciary Committee wrestled for more than an hour Tuesday with a proposal to reinforce Colorado's ``make my day'' law, then tabled the bill for further work.
State district attorneys strongly urged the committee not to revisit the issue - and not to broaden the 10-year-old measure that allows residents, under limited conditions, to use deadly force against intruders.
But Rep. Barry Arrington, R-Arvada, sponsor of HB 1138, argued that a 3-year-old decision by the Colorado Supreme Court had eroded the intent of the law.
``The Supreme Court undermined the Homeowners ...
