THORNTON -- With powerful Centaurus among the entries, there was little mystery surrounding the outcome of the Thornton Invitational wrestling tournament on Saturday.
But there were a few surprises along the way.
Centaurus, ranked second in Class 5A, won individual championships at four weights to outpoint Rocky Mountain 90-66 and won the team title at the tournament for the third consecutive year.
Nevertheless, the Warriors started slowly in the final round before salting away the victory. Freshman Robert White lost 14-0 in the consolation final in the 103-pound division, and ...
