Consider the state of couplehood, circa 1998.
Ponder the headlines that have caused parents to have to tell their children about the birds, the bees and the politicians, and you would surmise that the bounds of monogamy are being stretched like a T-shirt on a water buffalo.
Then turn down the covers on this: Surveys consistently say Americans are merrily monogamous.
