In driving rain, dozens of Colorado pilgrims, two bishops and 20 priests sloshed down an alley to a 12th-century church Monday to hear Cardinal James Francis Stafford celebrate Mass.
The Mass at San Lorenzo De Priscibus, a chapel-sized brick church built 900 years ago to service a Vatican fish market, was Stafford's first public worship service since Pope John Paul II made him a cardinal two days before.
