Productivity in selected industries and government services in 1986

Productivity Reports ARTHUR S. HERMAN Labor productivity, as measured by output per employee hours, increased in 1986 in more than three-fourths of the industries for which current data are available. In comparison, less than two-thirds of the industries posted gains in 1985.

This article updates to the most current year all indexes included in the industry roductivity measurement program of the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
