Dec. 2--Scana Energy, the No. 2 Georgia natural gas marketer, wants to withdraw from a 2-year-old marketing alliance with six Georgia electric membership corporations and is seeking to recover almost $9 million in damages and other costs.
A lawsuit filed by Scana and scheduled to be argued in Cobb Superior Court Monday is the latest in a series of lawsuits connected to Georgia's 2-year-old natural gas deregulation.
Scana claims $5.1 million in damages related to alleged problems with billing of Scana customers, primarily by a for-profit affiliate of Cobb Electric Membership Corp., the state's largest nonprofit power cooperative. South Carolina-based ...
