Anaconda Nickel Ltd has named Fluor Daniel Inc., as well as the parent company, US-based Fluor Corp., in a letter of demand for the payment of A$1.02 billion damages for breach of contract related to plant delays at Anaconda's Murrin Murrin nickel project in Western Australia (MJ, July 28, p. 67).
The Perth-based company, which has filed the claim through its subsidiary Anaconda Operations Pty, is seeking the indemnification by Fluor of all "losses, damages, costs, claims and expenses suffered and incurred by reason of Fluor's breach of contract with Anaconda".
