AMES, Iowa - Kelvin Cato scored 18 points, blocked eight shots and helped shut down Texas Tech center Tony Battie as No. 14 Iowa State beat the No. 20 Red Raiders 64-61 in a Big 12 game Saturday.
Kenny Pratt added 17 points and 10 rebounds for Iowa State (13-3, 4-2), which got a lift from the return of leading scorer Dedric Willoughby, who had missed the past 2 1/2 games because of a sore left hamstring.
Willoughby played all but the final 30 seconds, and while he scored only 10 points on 3-for-13 shooting, his presence on the court seemed to help the Cyclones' confidence.
