NEW ORLEANS -- He is the patron saint of Super Bowl underdogs. His New York Jets were picked to lose to the mighty Baltimore Colts by 17 points - the largest spread in Super Bowl history.
But Joe Willie Namath guaranteed victory, then delivered, winning the MVP award in the 1969 Super Bowl, leading New York to a 16-7 victory over invincible Colts.
