Question: I've always admired orchids. Are they hard to grow? I've been told that they do best in a greenhouse. Can you suggest an orchid that will grow indoors and survive our dry climate?
Answer: Orchids are generally no more difficult to grow than many popular indoor flowering plants. They require water, fertilizer, light and good circulation. If you can grow house plants, you can grow orchids.
You do not necessarily need a greenhouse to grow and enjoy the beauty of orchids. Some of the more adaptable orchids can be grown on a bright windowsill in your home or under artificial lighting.
