LEADVILLE -- There's nothing like contemplating a ski resort job to give hard-rock mining infinite charm.
Asarco's Black Cloud mine reopened Jan. 13, rehiring the 120 people at the silver, zinc and lead mine that closed in November. Nearby ski areas had lots of jobs - seasonal openings with hourly wages that didn't cover family bills.
