TUCSON -- Despite being surrounded by familiar teammates, Bill Swift has an eerie sense of newness at the outset of spring training, a flashback to 1995 when he was the premier free agent pitcher on the market and signed with the Colorado Rockies.

``It feels like my first year again with the Rockies because I haven't done anything,'' Swift said. ``Hopefully, I can come out and start off strong and quiet everything down and get myself back on track again.''
