Colorado rivers have crested, but Monday's rainstorms kept flood watchers edgy and created an exhilarating white-water highway for rafters.
On the Arkansas River, the peak flow jostled kayakers and rafters. The Arkansas Headwater Recreation Area cautioned all boaters to avoid the Numbers area of the river near Nathrop and the Royal Gorge.
The rivers are at their peak, so additional rainfall could cause some of the rivers to flood, a forecaster at the National Weather Service said. There's still some snow up in the mountains, but most of it has already melted.
