What a fruitful way to utilize a picture collection. This activity engages 5-, 6-, and 7-year-olds in a progressive series of lively, expressive, and imaginative language arts experiences.
* Materials include several groups of pictures that suggest and form a simple story line. Card groups (6-10) should include pictures of objects, characters, places, action--some of each.
* Picture sources include magazines, photographs, newspapers, or quick color/black-and-white sketches.
* Divide the class into groups of 3-6 students.
* Plan picture sets, one set per group.
