CASE ON POINT: Piro v. Chandler, 2000 WL 1634167 So.2d -- LA
ISSUE: When a physician orders that certain medication be given if a patient's status changes, should nurses be allowed to wait before ordering the medication? How long should they be allowed to wait? Is a time delay of four hours acceptable? These were just some of the issues in which the New Jersey courts were confronted in this case.
