NEW YORK - With Gotham decked out for the holidays, the Washington Capitals got in the mood last night and were more than nice to the New York Rangers.
The Caps surrendered three power-play goals in less than 90 seconds of elapsed power-play time and two three-game streaks ended. New York won 3-2 to break a losing streak while Washington watched its season-high winning streak end.
"Obviously that was the difference, whether it was their power play or our penalty killing, that was the difference in the game," said Caps goalie Olie Kolzig. "The Rangers have the personnel that move the puck around well and find the seam, but at the same time we were ...
