Dec. 6--The Fort Worth-Arlington metropolitan area had the sixth-largest increase of high-tech workers in the country from 1993 to 1998, and ranks fourth in Texas in total "new economy" employment, according to a report released Tuesday by an industry trade group.
The Fort Worth-Arlington area was also listed as the fastest-growing technology center among smaller metropolitan areas from 1993-1998, but it placed 50th out of 60 markets surveyed in average high-tech wages at $47,414, according to the "Cybercities" report, compiled by the AeA, formerly the American Electronics Association.
