Dec. 7--Energy conservation groups warned yesterday that the state must do more to encourage people to conserve energy or consumers will see skyrocketing rates akin to those in California.
"New Jersey currently has the same conditions that caused rapid, huge price increases in California," said Lyle Rawlings, president of the Mid-Atlantic Solar Association, which represents solar companies.
Rawlings was joined at a Statehouse press conference in Trenton by representatives from the Pace Law School Energy Project and the N.J. Association of Energy Service Companies.
