If there's room far improvement in any NC program, this shop addresses the problem once and for all by making the correction in the postprocessor.
The postprocessor, or post, is the translator that makes the output of a particular CAM system understandable to a particular CNC machine. And in many shops, it can be tempting to think of this postprocessor as a piece of equipment just as stationary as the machine is. It may be that the post was written by a third-party contractor, making it inconvenient to update or modify down the road.
